Leona LaurenLeona Louise Lewis, born 3 April 1985 is an actor as well as a singer and activist born in Britain. Born in the London Borough Of Islington she went to the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology, Croydon. Lewis was recognized as a national talent in the final season of The X Factor in 2006, winning the PS1 million recording contract in partnership with Syco Music. The winning single that was a cover of the song of Kelly Clarkson "A Moment like This", reached 50,000 downloads within 30 minutes. It also hit the top position for the duration of four weeks. Clive Davis's label, J Records, signed Lewis to a deal for five albums in the United States. Lewis continued her success by releasing Spirit which was her debut studio album. It was 10x platinum recognized in the UK. The album was one of the top four albums sold in 2000, and it was also among the most-sold UK albums. As per the Official Charts Company, Spirit is the top-selling debut album by female artists in the 21st century. Its first single, "Bleeding Love", was a seven-week standout at number 1 in the UK and was the highest-priced single of 2007. It was also the most-sold song in the US that year. Lewis won the Billboard Best New Artist Award the subsequent year. Echo was her sophomore studio album. Lewis also composed the track "I Have You in My Eyes" for Avatar. In the year 2011, Lewis released the single "Collide" in collaboration in collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii and also her first extended performance, Hurt: The EP. Her album Glassheart, her third studio effort, Glassheart (2012), marked a new creative direction for Lewis taking the inspiration of dubstep and electronic music. The Glassheart Tour was in the mid-year of 2013, and she began recording music to create her first Christmas album. The Christmas album, with Love was released late in 2013. The album's first single, One More Sleep, was a top 3 hit within the UK. It was what made Lewis to be the first British single female singer in the top fivespot, with eight singles. The singer also overtook Olivia Newton-John's record for seven singles.
