Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American actress and musician. Her first release was hilarious, intelligently composed rap songs that addressed questions of racial identity as well as sexuality. Then she expanded her audience to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical path as a trumpeter. Born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the child of Chinese immigrants and Korean immigrants. Later, she began traditional and hip-hop training. When she was in high the school, she focused on women's studies and journalism. She also studied Mandarin briefly in Beijing. It wasn't until after graduating that she shifted her focus on music. Her song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity via the Internet in 2012. The track was later included in her first album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The other viral hit songs included queef track and the eye-catching NYC Bitchecity tour. The second track linked into Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide that was published in the year 2015, and was a different initiative. As a musician and an author on her resume she began looking for acting in a third project. She has appeared in films including Neighbors 2 Storks, and Bad Rap. In 2018, her breakthrough performances included Dude Ocean's 8, as well as Crazy Rich Asians. In June she released her first film In Fina We Trust.
